Don't Forget My Name

'Don't Forget My Name'
The lyrics for 'Don't Forget My Name'
were written by myself and the original
music was written by David Myerthall.
The written song was based on a letter
from a second world war soldier to
his sweetheart at home.
I felt that, as the letter was intended for
a woman to read, a woman singing it
would give justice to the poignant
and moving words of the letter.

To me, the song is in every

sense a true love story.

The finished song was a collaboration

between 'Tony Jackson' from the UK,
'The Brighton High School Choir'
from Colorado - USA and
'Alessandra Zwerger' from the UK.

Unfortunately Tony passed away just
before the final song was completed.
Tony was a real friend and had a
wonderful singing and narrating voice.
He was the ex lead singer of the group
'Rage' who had a No.3 hit single
across Europe with 'Run To You'.
Tony's voice was often heard on TV adverts
in the UK. Libby's Umbongo was a classic
as was the Levi jeans advert with
'I Heard it Through The Grapevine'.
Also the 'Sam Cooke', 'Wonderful World'
advert, which all had Tony's voice.
His vocal talents had taken him around
the world on two world tours, taking in
South Africa, Japan and Australia
as a part of 'Paul Young' and

the 'Royal Family'.

Many other artists benefited From Tony's

vocal talents, including George Michael,
Danni Minogue, Terence Trent Darby,
Soul To Soul, Roberta Flack,
Gloria Esterfan, Status Quo,
Alexander O'Niel, The Stranglers

Johnny Mathis, Dexy's Midnight Runners,

Lloyd Cole, Was Not Was and
Hot Chocolate.

Tony also appeared on the same bill

as East 17, Take That, and Worlds Apart.

One of his songs (a collaboration) was the

title track on a album which achieved double

platinum status.Boyzone ( I'll Be There).

ball A delightful recording of a beautiful piece of music performed by a very talented soprano. An irresistible combination that must surely succeed. The recording is particularly apposite at this critical time when the world is once again on the brink of conflict....Lft. col John Sherburn

I'm a student from Brighton that was part of the group that sang this song, and I think that it's amazing that this happened. I don't think that anyone was expecting this to happen. I think it's great that you have this on your website. It makes us all feel very special. THANK YOU.

Tony recorded his contribution to my song, 'Don't Forget My Name' in the UK,
before it went to the USA for the choir to add their vocals.
The award winning choir, from 'Brighton High School' in Colorado,
recorded their voices onto the track, in the state university recording studio,
then returned the track to me in the UK.
They also sent me footage, of the choir filmed while recording.
Alessandra Zwerger in the UK, then recorded her vocals,
before I edited the whole video into a music video.
Alessandra has been singing since the age of 6 and throughout her life has
been involved in pop, jazz, dance, classical & opera.
She trained at the 'London College of Music' and then spent
over two years with 'The English National Opera'.
She has performed at many venues, including
'Holland Park Open Air Festival',
'The Bloomsbury Theatre' & 'St Johns-Smiths Square'.
She has also performed at:
'Norwich Cathedral' & 'Bury St Edmunds Abbey'.
Special thanks to 'Lynn Frickley' from
Brighton High School who organized the
whole of the USA contribution and also
'Jim Techau' the choir-master.

I felt very honored that Tony agreed

to record this song.
I made this video so that he would live
on through his voice,
as do the words of that dying soldier.
